"A Grounding Piece of Land" (2021) is a site specific lecture performance conducted by soundscapes, audio sampling collages, lyrics and images to be experienced collectively.

Now based in Europe, I recover the teachings I received from the Forests of the so-called Bra𝓼il, through its impact on the wisdom of my heart: this interconnected piece of land that I carry everywhere I go. I normally address the learning processes of Ecology, focusing on the transformation of people and ecosystems around me. In the present moment, I turn my attention to my own intimate Ecology, where feelings and molecules inhabit. I recognise regeneration from within. I make a compost out of my own false beliefs. I teach myself to unlearn. I ground myself, through the heart of Earth. I dream and sing about it: the change of a whole system.

This pleasurable vulnerability can connect other hearts and its micro earthly politics. In any case, in times of climate & humanitarian collapse, each heart could be experienced as a grounding piece of land, in the middle of despair.

“A Grounding Piece of Land” was presented as part of the program “Practices to Make Summer Longer”, developed in collaboration with the artist-run platform CO—RE and took place at Floating E.V, Berlin, on the 16th of September 2021.
